EDUCATION MATTERS
It’s NOT JUST PASSION, IT’S PREPARATION!
My education wasn’t handed to me — I earned it step by step while balancing family, work, and real-world responsibilities. From Southwestern College to UCLA to UC San Diego, I fought for every opportunity to study government, public policy, and U.S.–Mexico relations so I could better understand how decisions made at City Hall impact families like ours in District 8.
I didn’t go to school just to hang diplomas on a wall. I went because I was tired of seeing our communities ignored and misunderstood. My training in political science and international affairs taught me how to analyze complex problems, read the fine print in policy, and push for solutions that are practical, fair, and grounded in data — not slogans.
When I say I’m ready to work for District 8, it’s not just passion, it’s preparation. Every class, every late night studying, every sacrifice brought me to this point — so I can use what I’ve learned to fight for safer streets, better housing, cleaner neighborhoods, and a City Council that finally listens to the communities it serves.
